Aunt Mary's Spoon Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Add 1 T. of vegetable oil to a large skillet if you are not using a non stick skillet.
  • Over medium heat, brown ground beef with onions in skillet until meat is no longer pink.
  • Add remaining ingredients and combine with the browned beef and onions.
  • Cook over medium low heat for 20 minutes, stirring often. The sauce will gradually thicken up as it cooks. It will be fairly liquid when you start.
  • Serve in hamburger buns.
  • It can also be served over toasted bread with shredded cheese on top for an open faced sandwich.
