For Making Your Home Festive and Relaxing
Find the perfect fall sign...
A great sign is the perfect way to spruce up your space and get you in the mood for fall. Here are some of my favorites…
- I love this personalized pumpkin patch sign from Canvas Archive on Etsy. It’s perfect for any wall in your home, but I’m planning to put one in my kitchen.
- This “Happy Fall, Y’all” sign will make your front porch the most inviting place around. And it’s reversible, so just turn it around to transition to Christmastime!
- This “Give Thanks” pumpkin sign from Amazon is one you can keep out all through Halloween and Thanksgiving!
- You can also shop Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Fill your home with fall scents...
I’ve always been fond of fall scents, and traditionally I was a candle girl. But I’ve recently purchased a diffuser and started using essential oils and I am obsessed! If you want your home to consistently smell amazing, this is the way to go. My friend, Anna is a rep for Young Living, and she hooked me up with lots of great products. They do a little of everything: cleaning products, clean natural make-up, and supplements to name a few. But the essential oils have been my favorite thing! Right now, I’m using the apple pie blend and it has me in the best fall spirits! If you want to learn more, check out the Facebook page for Anna’s business, Little Sage Wellness!
Brew the perfect cup of tea...
Once the weather begins to turn colder, I love to cuddle up with a blanket and a hot beverage. I love coffee year round, but in the fall, my favorite drink is this Hot Cinnamon Tea by Harney and Sons. It’s just the right blend of tea and spice. It comes in a couple of varieties.
I can drink it black, and it’s also good with sugar. But my favorite way to drink it is with a little local honey stirred in. We buy local from Blue Haven Bee Company or you can order from their website. You might also check in your area for places near you that sell local honey. But if you happen to live in Northeast Georgia, be sure to check out Blue Haven. They have lots of amazing honey-related products you will love!
For Feeling and Looking Your Best
Treat yourself to some cute and comfortable shoes...
I have owned lots of tennis shoes. I’m on my feet a lot teaching and chasing three littles around, so comfortable shoes matter. But tennis shoes, though comfortable, have never really felt fashionable to me. Until now.
I recently splurged and bought a pair of On Cloud tennis shoes, and I LOVE them! They are cute with everything I wear and they are so comfortable! I own this pair, the Cloud Swift in glacier white. But they have lots of great styles and colors for whatever you’re looking for! Check out their website here, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Expand your style...
I know traditionally spring is considered the time of new beginnings. But I have always preferred fall as a time to make changes and reinvent myself. Last year around this time, I decided I wanted to upgrade my wardrobe. But I’m busy, and I didn’t want to spend hours shopping or break my bank trying new trends or updating fashion staples.
I decided to try Stitch Fix, and I’m so glad I did. It’s been a game-changer. I love that I get pieces that are chosen just for me. They almost always fit, and I get so many compliments on things I’ve received. You can schedule as often as you like, returns are very easy, and the app is super simple to use too! If you want to check it out, use this link for $25 off your first fix!
For Fall Fun with Those You Love
Take a fall trip...
We love to travel in the fall. This year, we’ve decided to take our kids and my mom and dad on a special fall trip. If you want some places to go to help you enjoy fall fun, check these ideas out!
- Go apple picking. We love Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC or B J Reece Apple House and Orchards in Ellijay, GA. And when you get home, use those apples in one of these easy and delicious apple recipes.
- Visit a pumpkin patch. Our favorite is Washington Farms in Bogart, GA.
- Drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is so beautiful just to drive through, and there are so many fun stops you can make along the way. Click here to check out their official website for ideas.
- Visit a National Park. My favorites in fall are Cuyahoga Valley and Shenandoah.
- And if you’re traveling with kids, check out this post for how to make it easy and fun!
Make TV time family time...
Fall is the time for new episodes of our favorite TV shows. Here are some of my favorites that are great for the whole family that you can watch right now!
- Lego Masters: Teams build ridiculous lego structures as a competition. Watch on Prime Video or Hulu.
- Gordon Ramsey’s Uncharted: This show features chef Gordon Ramsey traveling the world and competing with the best chefs from various cultures and countries. Watch on National Geographic or Disney+.
- The Masked Singer: Singers in costumes belt it out every week hoping to be last one to be unmasked. Watch on Fox.
- Halloween Wars: Teams of cake, sugar, and pumpkin artists make amazing Halloween displays to compete for a huge prize. Watch on Food Network.
Fall is my favorite season, and it is my hope that it will be a great season for you. I hope some of my favorite things will suit your fall style and bring you joy this year. Have a good day! And Happy Fall Y’all!
