You Need to See this for the Ultimate in Christmas Decorating
The Christmas Tour of Homes in Madison, Georgia
If you want to get inspired by beautiful Christmas decorating ideas, then treat yourself to a tour of homes. For the past two decades, a good friend of mine and I always attend the Christmas Tour of Homes in Madison, Georgia.
Madison is a small town filled to the brim with historic homes and charming shops and restaurants. It makes the perfect weekend away.
Since the town was spared from being torched by General Sherman during the Civil War, there are many examples of historical homes that have survived and thrived. Each year, Madison has a Spring and Christmas Tour of Homes. Keep scrolling to see all of the inspirational pictures made on my trip to the 2022 Tour of Homes.
Later in the post, look for my recommendations on where to stay and eat while in town. And let me know if you’ve been on any other great tour of homes. We love to hear from you!
A Gallery of Christmas Decorating Ideas
I’ve chosen some of the highlights from my visit to the Madison Christmas Tour of Homes this year. I always come away inspired by how other homeowners decorate for Christmas. Click below for my favorite tour pictures. Enjoy!
Favorite Recommendations of Where to Stay and Eat
It is definitely a splurge, but the James Madison Inn is perfectly located in downtown Madison. It is within walking distance to the shops and restaurants in town as well as some of the homes on tour. Visit their website for more details. I highly recommend booking well ahead of the tour dates.
Three of my favorite restaurants in Madison are Town 220, Ricardo’s Kouzzina, and Amici’s. Town 220 is another splurge as it has a more upscale menu, but I have never had a bad meal here. Ricardo’s Kouzzina is a Greek-influenced restaurant that serves some of the best lobster bisque I’ve tasted. Also note that the desserts are incredible. For a casual lunch, Amici’s is perfect with its pizza and sandwich menu.
