Make Someone's Day Brighter with a Handmade Birthday Card
Paint chips aren’t only for home decor projects. If you have a few lying around, be crafty and turn them into birthday cards. Tina Kistinger from craftedlivingblog.com will show you how to create fun, colorful cards using paint chips.
Handmade Cards: A Fun and Easy Project
Gather the family and grab a few supplies to get started on this fun and easy project:
- Paint chips
- die cuts
- adhesive gems or buttons or sequins
- cardstock
- permanent adhesive
- foam tape
- scissors or paper trimmer
- Cut cardstock to measure 8.5″ x 4.25″ and fold in half to make a card base.
- Trim the paint chips to varying widths. If there is text on your paint chips, be mindful of cutting that off for a cleaner look.
- Adhere the trimmed paint chip strips to the card.
- Adhere the Happy Birthday die cut to the card base using foam tape.
- Decorate the card with gems, buttons or sequins.
Helpful Hints for this Paint Chip Birthday Card
Paint chips are easy to acquire from the hardware store or any home improvement store that has a paint department. Instead of a die cut, you can use any type of birthday embellishment to finish the card. There are no rules other than to have fun creating with your family. Handmade cards are made with love and are from the heart.
