I Love You More and More by Nicky Benson. Illustrated by Jonny Lambert (2016) One of our favorites, this beautifully illustrated rhyming book captures perfectly the love that Bear has for Cub as they travel throughout the world. It shows how that love just grows more and more every day. It comes in board book, hardcover or paperback and is for children up to 7 years of age.
Kiss Me by Melanie Joyce and illustrated by Anna Jones. (2014) This board book is for children up to 4 years of age. Lovingly written, the rhyming verse in this book has the little bear getting kisses all throughout the day through fun, messes, and even disappointment. Sweet, snuggly kisses make everything better!
Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney (1994) This “I love you” book is a must have for children up to 6 year of age. Big Nut Brown Hare and Little Nut Brown Hare express their love for each other in an exchange of who loves the other more. It is an endearing, fun read that is sure to have your loves doing the same with you. Indeed, you both will feel loved “to the moon and back” after reading it together. No doubt that it will become a favorite! You can find it in board book, hardcover or paperback.
Love You Forever by Robert Munsch (1986) This one is a classic and beautifully portrays the love of a mother for her baby and then spans the years to show the transition to the son’s love for his mother. Not meant to be taken completely literally, it is a testimony of the infinite love between a parent and their child. This one is for ages 4 and up and comes in board book, hardcover, or paperback.
The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin (2015) for ages 3-7. This book, told in rhyme, explores all the things that a child may do in life and how their parent will love them no matter what they grow up to be. It has a very meaningful and heartfelt message with lovely illustrations. This one comes in hardcover.
On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman (2005) Such a beautifully written and illustrated book, this one conveys to children how wonderfully special they are. The whole world celebrates their birth and marvels at their uniqueness. This book is for children up to 6 years of age and comes in hardcover, paperback, and board book.
I Love You, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt and illustrated by Cyd Moore (1997). This is such a fun book is for children from ages 4 to 8. A little boy is full of questions for his mom asking if she would still love him if he were different kinds of animals. With humor, it tells children that their parent will love them no matter what and go to any lengths for them. This one is a favorite of my grandkids! It comes in board book, paperback, and hard cover.
I Wish You More by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld (2015). This is such a special book filled with a parent’s wishes for good things in life for a child. It is a very sweet book to share with your little ones as you think of all the things you hope for them. This book is for children ages 5 to 8 and comes in hardcover.
Who Loves _____? Written by Jennifer Dewing and Illustrated by Maria Carluccio is a hardcover, personalized book for children (ages 0 to 6) that can be purchased from iseeme.com. You put in the child’s name and the names of family members throughout the book. Then, in rhyming verse, it expresses to the child how very much each person loves them. It is a definite favorite and a precious keepsake. As such, my grandson’s copy shows lots of wear from being read so many times. It comes in pink too.
You! by Sandra Magsamen (2015) for children ages 4 to 10 years. This is another book of hope and inspiration that parents can share with their children to help them know that they can dream and discover and feel good about being themselves. The rhyming verse is filled with positivity, encouragement, and empowerment. You can find this one in hardcover and board book.
Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman (2010) is for children ages 4 to 8. This beautiful book expresses love for a child that is unconditional and all encompassing. It lets children know that their parents’ love will be with them no matter where they may go and it will never leave them. You can get it in hardcover and board book.
