How to Be Organized for Birthday Cards
Never Forget a Birthday Again with These Organizing Tips
Using a birthday book organizer is the best way I have found to stay on top of mailing birthday cards. I am big on making people feel special on their birthdays, and mailing birthday cards is an easy way to do that. What is not so easy is to keep track of birthdays and to lay your hands on a card when you need it.
Here’s how to stay ahead of that birthday curve. With a little planning, you can look like a rock star when it comes to being organized for birthdays!

Use a Birthday Book Organizer
The first step in your birthday organization journey is to make a list of everyone you typically send a card and/or gift to each year. The method I have used for years is a birthday book organizer. It is divided by month. Each month has the dates with lines to the side to record the name of the birthday person. They have pockets for each month, so you have a place to sort and store the birthday cards.

Buy Birthday Cards in Advance
Buying cards in advance is an obvious way to stay organized for birthday cards. More important is to make sure you remember where you put them after you buy them in advance.
My preferred method is to look for cards throughout the year. Whenever I run across one that is perfect the birthday person, I buy it. Then I go home and promptly file it in my birthday book organizer (as mentioned above).
Another time saving alternative is to buy in bulk. Pictured is a nice assortment that works for anyone on your list. Click here to purchase this set of twelve birthday cards.
Do This to Save Even More Time
Buy a book of forever stamps and tuck it into your birthday book organizer. I always like to keep a book of fun U.S. Forever stamps on hand like these cute pinata stamps. You can order them online here from the USPS website if your local post office does not carry them. I like adding this fun extra detail when mailing out birthday cards. As the saying goes, details make the difference! The card recipient will not only feel special that you sent a hand addressed card, but also that you took the time to use a special stamp.
Giving a Birthday Card Book Organizer as a Gift
If you have a friend in need of some organization help, why not gift a birthday card book organizer? You’ll be giving a friend the gift of time and less stress. This is an especially great gift idea for an older relative or friend whose hands may be affected by arthritis. Buy an assortment of cards and offer to address them in advance. Then organize them by month, and they will be all set for upcoming birthdays.
One Final "Note"
While birthday texts, emails, and phone calls are all great, take it a step further and make the time to mail a birthday card. Using the tips above will help you stay organized and on track to make a friend or relative’s day with some fun mail in their mailbox!
