Get Decked Out for Game Day!
Wearing the right game day swag can really get you in the right spirit for game day. You can keep it simple and just wear a favorite tee. Or go hardcore fan and wear face paint and a jersey. Or be stylish with the latest in game day couture. Below are some of my favorite places to shop for game day swag, no matter who your favorite team is.
- Fanatics.com has a little bit of everything for everyone in the family.
- If you are looking for something a little more on trend, especially for women, check out Social House Gameday Couture. They have everything from oversized sweatshirts to pair with your favorite leggings to tunics and dresses.
- If you have a family, you might also want to consider checking out getting matching shirts on Etsy.com.
- If you follow a team close to you, can also check local stores or your local Walmart or Target.
Set Up your Space
There a lot of ways to make your space into the perfect setup for watching college football. Here are just a few ideas.
- Invest in the perfect wreath to support your favorite college team. We had a local lady make ours and we love it, but you can also find great ones on Etsy, or follow a tutorial like this one.
- Rearrange your furniture to make it a better setup for watching the TV together.
- Grab some decorations at a party store like Party City or check out the cute stuff they have on Amazon, like this football game concessions set, this banner, or this cute throw pillow.
Make Your Favorite Game Day Foods
My favorite part of Game Days is the food. I love to snack, so traditional tailgating foods are among my favorites. Even if you aren’t having a big get together or going to the game, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the great food! Here are some of my favorites that are quick and easy.
- Dips are perfect for Game Day. Check out this past post with 4 amazing dips with 5 ingredients or less. My favorite is the buffalo chicken dip!
- Order wings or pizza from your local place.
- Check out this list from Southern Living.
Add In Some Fun
Don’t be afraid to be a little silly and have a little fun. Here are some ways to do just that. I promise, it will make game day even more special!
- Do some tailgating, even if it’s just in your driveway: play corn hole, grill out, and hang out outside before or after the game.
- Learn the cheers of your team and do them even from your couch. I love hearing my son shout “hunker down Dawgs” when our defensive line prepares to stop the other team.
- Learn the words and sing along to the fight song. My family loves to sing “Glory Glory to Ole Georgia” loud and proud after every touchdown.
Connect with Your People
I got my love of college football from my dad. I remember watching games with him as a kid, so he’s the one who made me into a Georgia Bulldog Fan. For us, game day Saturdays are still all about connecting with the people we love most. There are lots of ways to do that.
- Get together for a viewing party or even a tailgate
- FaceTime or zoom with your favorite fans to talk about the game at halftime and after the game.
- Start a group text and chat through the game. You could even set fun rules like you can only communicate with memes or movie quotes.
I hope you are as excited as I am about College Football game days. I also hope this post gives you some great ideas to make the Saturdays this fall the greatest ever!
