The Guest List by Lisa Foley
The Guest List by Lisa Foley is an entertaining thriller that is reminiscent of Agatha Christie. There is a lavish wedding at a new wedding venue that is on an island off the coast of Ireland. The only people on the island are there for the wedding. There is a good bit of character development and background built up, then there is a murder. Almost any person there could have a motive, but who did it? You will most likely be very surprised!
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher
The Wives by Tarryn Fisher is a thriller that was recommended to me and I am so glad that it was. A woman named Thursday is married to a man named Seth. She knows that he has two other wives but accepts the unusual arrangement because she loves him. She becomes curious about the other two women after finding a clue in his pocket about one of the other wives. As Thursday begins to investigate the story really gets interesting. This book will keep you guessing throughout and the ending is a shocker!
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris is one that will really make you think and will keep you turning pages. Jack and Grace are the perfect couple and seem to have the perfect life. Anyone would envy their life together. They have a beautiful home, elaborate parties, he is a handsome, successful attorney and she is an amazing cook and gracious hostess. But why doesn’t Grace ever accept invitations to go out, or why doesn’t she ever answer her phone? You’ll have to read to find out what is really going on in their home behind closed doors.
The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson
The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson is the first thriller in a four book series called The Collector. The next three titles are The Roses of May, The Summer Children, and The Vanishing Season. They are all connected by the main characters who are FBI agents and the cases they investigate. In this book, “The Gardener” kidnaps girls, holds them captive and then tattoos them so that they become his butterflies in his garden. One young woman comes forward to help the FBI agents piece together the story of the garden and solve the case. I have read the entire series and all of them kept me reading, even if at times I felt like it was a bit difficult to keep going due to the nature of the content. This one reminded me of the TV show Criminal Minds.
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware is the first of her novels that I ever read. I have since read all of her books. Like Lucy Foley, her work is also reminiscent of Agatha Christie. Her books tend to get mixed reviews but you might want to give one of her books a try to see if you like her style. In this book, Lo is a travel magazine journalist on an extravagant cruise for her job. She witnesses a woman being thrown over board but upon checking no one is missing. Lo cannot make sense of it and everyone thinks that she is crazy or dreamed it. Lo feels compelled to learn what has happened but where will that lead her?

So many books. So little time to read! Thanks for the suggestions
Yes, you are so right! You are welcome! 🙂
I read one a couple of years ago called The Naturalist that was reallt great and really different. It focuses on a plant biologist who is brought in to help with a murder case and the victim is someone he knows. It’s fast-paced and fun.
I will have to put The Naturalist on my “To Read” list! Thanks!
Karen, I have read three of these books. I really enjoyed reading them. I will put the other two on my list. Thanks for the suggestions!!
