Five Easy Ways to Decorate for Fall
Fall in the South
As soon as the calendar turns over to September, I start thinking about fall decorations. When you live in the southern part of the United States, you count down the days until fall like kids count down to Christmas morning. Like any other Southerner, I know it will still be hot in September. In my mind though, I just feel better when September 1st arrives. Somehow it feels cooler knowing that the brutal month of August heat is behind me.
I love fall, and I’ve always felt like fall is a Southerner’s reward for summer. With that in mind, I start to think about ways to celebrate fall once September arrives. Below are five ways to start bringing the fall feeling into your home this month.

Five Fun Ways to Add a Touch of Fall Decorations to Your Home
White Pumpkins
I love the idea of adding in white pumpkins as part of fall decorations. Pile them up in a rustic basket for a centerpiece or scatter along a mantel. I think the white or cream pumpkin color not only fits a farmhouse style, but also it makes the easy transition from summer to fall decorating color schemes.

Fall Themed Throw Pillows
Change up your throw pillows with a fun fall themed design. A throw pillow cover is an easy and inexpensive way to add a touch of fall decoration to your porch or home. Just use one of your existing pillows and put it inside a fall themed pillow cover.

Fall Doormat
For a super easy way to announce fall has arrived at your home, swap in a cute fall themed doormat. This will immediately dress up your front door (or back door). Both pretty and functional, adding a doormat to your porch will hopefully keep the fall leaves out of your house!

Fall Colored Cloth Napkins
You can never go wrong investing a little extra money in cloth dinner napkins. Why not make your family feel special by setting the table with cloth napkins for dinner? Also, these are perfect for when you have company over for a meal.

Fall Decorative Sign
This cute decorative sign is sure to welcome the fall season! Add this to your mantel, a shelf, or coffee table for an instant reminder that fall is here. This would make a charming vignette if you combined it with the decorative pumpkins mentioned earlier in this post.

Celebrate Fall's Arrival with these Fun Finds
Be inspired by these five suggestions for fall decorations and welcome the cooler season into your home. Summer has its advantages, but fall brings welcome relief from the heat and fun activities like visiting pumpkin patches, driving in the mountains looking at leaves, and pumpkin flavored anything.
