How to Make the Easiest Peach Pie Recipe in the World
A Peach Pie Recipe from the Peach State
Living in Georgia, we are so fortunate to have easy access to fresh peaches in the summer. Growing peaches is hard work. We are very lucky that the Chitwood Orchard is still in business and sells their crop during the summer. It is so great to see that they are continuing their family tradition of growing peaches.
Needless to say, there are loads of peach pie recipes in Georgia. This one is my particular favorite for several reasons.
First, this is a recipe by a wonderful lady who was well known in our community and was a great cook. Secondly, this requires no baking skills at all. If you can chop peaches up and stir ingredients together, you can bake this pie! And last, this one is just plain delicious.
Read on for a few helpful hints and the recipe.
Helpful Hints
- You can of course use your favorite homemade pie crust recipe, but I just buy the regular 9″ frozen pie crusts from the grocery store or the refrigerated premade crusts.
- Fresh peaches are a must. As the star of this recipe, fresh is best. You can get away with canned peaches for cobblers but not this pie.
- For best slicing results, let the pie cool down and set for at least an hour or two before serving.
- This tastes even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
- This recipe easily doubles.
Make Someone's Day by Gifting Them a Peach Pie
If you have an abundance of fresh peaches, why not make an extra pie and gift one to a friend or neighbor? Since this recipe easily doubles, make someone’s day a good one by surprising them with a fresh peach pie.
Bonus points if you take it a step further by buying a cute pie dish and gifting that along with the pie itself! Pictured here is one I found on Amazon that fits the bill. And you can treat yourself to a new pie dish, since this is a set of two. Click here to purchase from Amazon.

Miss Sarah Duncan's Peach Pie
Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 9" pie shell
- 4-6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Peel and slice peaches. Cover the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
- Melt the stick of margarine or butter. Let cool slightly.
- Beat egg in a separate bowl with a fork to break up the yolk.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the slightly cooled melted butter, sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and egg. Whisk until combined.
- Pour mixture over the fresh peaches in the pie crust.
- Bake for 1 hour at 300° or until pie is set. Let pie cool and set for best slicing results.
- Serve with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
- This recipe can be doubled to make two regular 9" pies. If using a deep dish pie crust, then double the recipe to fill up the pie shell.
