The Easiest and Best Pound Cake Recipe EVER!
This easy pound cake recipe is a gamechanger! It has only a few ingredients that mix together quickly in one bowl. It comes out perfectly every time and it is so delicious and versatile. It can be dressed up with strawberries or peaches with whipped cream or eaten as is and it is equally good! If you need an easy pound cake recipe give this one a try!
This recipe was shared with me many years ago by a sweet teacher friend, Angie. It has always been one of my go to recipes for potlucks, for sharing with others, and for whipping up to include in a family meal. This easy pound cake recipe is definitely a keeper!
Ingredients:
- 1 box of yellow or white cake mix (Your choice. Both are good.)
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of canola oil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 8 oz container of sour cream
Ways to serve pound cake:
- plain with a cup of coffee or tea, after a meal, or for brunch
- add mascerated strawberries and whipped cream on top
- make a peach topping (click here for an easy recipe) and spoon on top with whipped cream if desired
- add a chocolate frosting or drizzle (click here for a delicious and easy chocolate frosting)
- add a powdered sugar glaze (this recipe for glaze works nicely)
- sprinkle liberally with sifted powdered sugar
- add a lemon powdered sugar glaze (You can also add some lemon extract to the recipe if you want a lemon flavored pound cake)

Ingredients
- 1 box yellow or white cake mix as is
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 8 oz cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease cake or bundt pan well or spray completely with Baker's Joy or other baking spray.
- Add all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
- Mix well with a hand mixer.
- Pour into your prepared cake pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
- Check for doneness with a wooden toothpick. It's done if it comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes or so before turning out.
